We used to camp out in southeast Colorado in Springtime when it was still snowy in the mountains. We found the Comanche National Grassland, with treasures such as Corrizo Gulch. The Apishapa River rises in the plains and flows into the Arkansas. It’s spare, windy, quiet, and quite ghostlike.
